You did everything right. So why does it still feel like guessing?
You worked hard. You saved. You opened the accounts and bought the policy someone recommended. And still, the quiet questions never quite go away. Is it enough? Will it last? What am I missing? That feeling isn't a flaw. It's a gap no one ever helped you close.

It's not you. The system was never built to make this clear.
Three things are working against you. None of them are your fault. All of them are fixable.
You were never taught this.
Personal finance wasn't on any syllabus. Not in high school, not in college. You were handed decisions with six-figure consequences and zero instruction, then told to do your own research.
No one is looking at the whole picture.
Your taxes sit with one person. Your insurance with another. Your accounts are scattered across firms that never speak to each other. You've been the general contractor of your own financial life, with no blueprint and no one coordinating the work.
Everyone profits from a piece. No one's paid to build the whole.
Most of the industry is set up to sell you a product, not to design a plan. So you collect pieces and hope they add up. Usually they don't add up to a strategy. They add up to a pile.
None of this is permanent. The fix isn't another product. It's a plan, built first, with one person coordinating the whole thing. That's the entire reason this practice exists.
And that person is Josh. Meet your guide →
I'm not here to sell you a product. I'm here to build you a plan.
I work with people at every stage of the journey: from college and young families, through building a business and planning for retirement, to protecting a legacy. What they share is the feeling of doing everything right and still being one step behind, because no one ever handed them the whole map.
I'm an independent, licensed financial professional based in Utah. I coordinate the whole picture: your CPA, your attorney, your accounts, so the pieces finally work together instead of pulling in different directions. The plan comes first. Any product comes after, and only if it genuinely fits your situation.
You don't need the whole map to take the first step.
You don't need a finished plan or the right questions ready. Just a first step, and someone who can see the whole picture with you. Here's how we work together.
We hear you
We start with your story. What you're building, what you want to protect, where you stand today. You talk, we listen, and we figure out together whether we're the right fit. That's the entire first step.
We shape your plan around you
We take your full financial picture and design a strategy around your goals, your timeline, and what actually fits your life. Not a template. A plan built for you, with you.
Your plan grows with you
Your life changes, and your plan moves with it. We revisit it over time so it keeps matching the life you're actually living.
You'll always understand the reasoning, and you'll always know your next step.
Two roads from here.
Same person. Same income. The only difference is whether there's a plan.
You keep doing your best with scattered pieces.
- Still quietly guessing whether it'll be enough.
- Decisions made one product at a time, with no one watching how they fit.
- The gaps tend to surface late, when they're expensive or hard to fix.
- That low background hum of money stress never quite goes away.
You move with a coordinated strategy you actually understand.
- Clarity on where you stand and where you're headed.
- Every piece chosen to fit the whole, not sold in isolation.
- Taxes, income, and protection coordinated by one person.
- Confidence that the plan adapts as your life changes.

What does “strategy-based” planning actually mean?
The plan gets built before the products. We start with your goals, your timeline, and your tax picture. Then we figure out which tools fit. Same product can be a great fit for one client and the wrong move for another. Depends on the situation.
Who do you usually work with?
People at every stage of the journey. College students finding their footing, young families, business owners, those approaching or already in retirement, and people planning the legacy they'll leave. The common thread is wanting a clear plan instead of scattered pieces.
Are you tied to one insurance carrier?
No. The practice is independent, so strategies get chosen based on what fits your situation, not what one carrier happens to offer.
What does the first call look like?
15 to 30 minutes. No pitch, no pressure. We talk through what you're trying to build or protect, and figure out together whether this kind of planning is a fit. If it isn't, you'll know quickly.
Do you give investment or tax advice?
Everything on this site is educational. I'm a licensed insurance professional, so my recommendations sit on the insurance and planning side. For tax or legal advice on your specific situation, you'll want a CPA or attorney. I coordinate with yours when it helps the plan.
How do you get paid?
Commission, paid by the carrier when a product is placed. The first conversation and the strategy design don't cost you anything. If you choose to move forward with a product, the compensation gets disclosed clearly before anything is signed.
The first step is a conversation, not a commitment.
Fifteen minutes. No pitch, no pressure. We'll talk through where you are and what you're trying to protect or build, and figure out together whether this kind of planning is a fit. If it isn't, you'll know fast, and you'll still leave with more clarity than you came with.
